Testimonials

K. Syrtseva (2018/19): « After a first year of Master in Fundamental Mathematics, I chose the M2 Optimization because of the wide range of courses, especially Game theory and Stochastic optimization. The program enables students to get a complete overview of modern directions and then to specialize in selected areas. Moreover, it encourages them to attend research seminars and advanced mini-courses, allowing them to grasp the big picture of actual scientific questions. Thanks to these opportunities, I found an internship on Game theory applications to Energy Tariffication in EDF, and now continue my research path by doing the PhD on Short Term Operational Planning of Electrical Networks in the same company. »

J.M. Machado (2020/21): « I received a fellowship from FMJH to pursue my studies in the Optimisation track at Orsay, after working in optimal control. A great advantage of the program is to encourage interaction with many different mathematical schools in the Paris region. I fell in love with the fields of calculus of variations and optimal transport, which I got to know during the Master’s courses. Now I use these topics daily in my research. I cannot express how thankful I am for the professors from the Laboratoire de Mathématiques d’Orsay and the administrative staff from FMJH for their support and teaching. I recommend M2 Optimisation to anyone who is searching for a stimulating environment to do mathematics and to make friends. »
